Bleeding in and out of each others' lives, drop by drop, smile by smile. It's the small things in the end. We're all good, we shine and burn with goodness and righteousness, we're all up for gender equality, fair treatment of children, free will, non-judgemental ways of making peace with the world. We're all awesome. We all agree on the general good. We want to make a difference, and we love this world.
It's the small things that always bite you in the end, the smile of seeing a new e-mail from one of us, but not from another, the sudden shock of a message going through when it means one has come online, the nick-name going green in the old ICQ client (and I still rememeber how my whole life would mean nothing compared to seeing him go online). The things like who it is that you wish good night last, - and we've hit this one oh so many times in so many lives. Small misunderstandings that work their way onto erasing trust, loving out of habit, keeping quiet when you almost wish you could open your mouth and say how you've been hurt, but you keep quiet "for the best", cause the pain's supposed to go away soon. Small things like letters and flowers, and then the pure joy of seeing each others faces, the holding of hands, the shaking when you think about kissing him for the first time, the unnatural shape of one's eyes as you make eye contact for the so very first time.
We all agree on the big picture.
It's the smallest of nuances, the sweet nothings of today, that shouldn't mean anything in the scope of many years we are to have, that bleed through straight out of your heart, and make it hurt like nothing ever could, that make you feel so alive you almost can't take it anymore. It's the small things.
Yeah, there are at least a dozen of people who served as an inspiration for this, so guessing is overrated.
